I'd ridden horses all my life... other people's horses. I had always wanted a horse of my own, and one February day in 1979, the dream came true. From a farmer friend I bought Herculette, just turned 11 years old, and very full of herself.
For over 20 years, that little horse gave me fun, excitement, a social life, and wonderful companionship. Through her, I made many new friends, and enjoyed endless laughter and companionship. The best way to see the countryside is from the back of a horse.
Herculette was a people-loving, gentle horse, but she was fun and exciting to ride, and a good jumper. One day she would be taking me round a cross-country course, (we even won the competition sometimes!) at other times, I could use her to give pony rides to children.
Old age finaly caught up with her in January 2002, but she will never be forgotten.
